The club has been invited fly at Walmer by the Parish Council. The flying will take place on the beach in Sea Road, parking on the road. The beach is large expanse of pebbles and shingle, so any anchors will have to be sand anchors; will try to find out if the council can obtain large builders bags with sand to be used as anchors. Official start will be 11am through to 5pm. We shall provide a children's kite making workshop which will be staffed by Parish Councillors and helpers.

Disappointed, but this being the bank holiday weekend, I expect to be at Margam Park kite festival, so apologies but I won't be able to attend.

Jewsons are happy to provide sand bags as long as their banners are placed in strategic positions. This would of course depend on whether a JCB could be available to get them on the beach...

Gareth and Gerty,
I did realise it would clash with Margam, but again this could develop into a two day event, at a different site within Walmer. Not necessary the same date(s). The Parish Council are keen to lay on events for the local community at no direct cost on the day to the local population.

No idea Len, but if you can recall, when we fly on the Green and look towards the lifeboat station, there is a road going along the beach further up.

Kingsdown Road runs from the Lifeboat House to Kingsdown which could be the road they refer to. There is no Sea road in Deal or Walmer, but there is one in Kingsdown.

I think they may be referring to "The Beach" a short stretch of road linking Kingsdown Rd with The Strand Mike

I think they may be referring to "The Beach" a short stretch of road linking Kingsdown Rd with The Strand Mike I suppose I will have to take a drive down to Walmer to clarify for every-one, or event I may look it up on a map. Sorry if I giving our any confusing signals, but have had personal and family matters on my mind from beginning of December, and my one brain cell has had difficulty coping, I am hoping that another brain cell is starting to show signs of rejuvenating and it continues into full use.
