There is a very remote possibility that I might be away that weekend at another OSOW event on another continent...but we'll see how things go....

Wendy and I will be there at the Folkestone venue, hopefully have another couple of kites to try out if Kiteworld deliver fast enough.

We seem to be a bit light on numbers this year so can I ask that all members put in a turn with the loan and sale kites so we don't have the same person doing it all day. I will arrange for a clip-board for you all to record how many kites you fly during the day and also to record the number of times loan kites are flown. Hope to see you all on Radnor Park on Sunday I'll be there around 10.30 to record

For new members who know little about World Kite Day below is a link to the UK OSOW webpage that gives a little more info about the event that happens world wide on the second Sunday in October every year. www.zen169231.zen.co.uk/osow/frame1.htmMike

It’s currently a lovely warm sunny day here in Crawley, the normal annual LUTS / OSOW event is again on at SUMNERS PONDS and is an open invitation to all kite fliers wishing to camp / fly that weekend ... where ever you are flying have a good'un!
Height clearance will be 500ft, including the hours of darkness on Saturday till midnight for the night fly.
Fireworks have been ordered and I expect to collect them tomorrow.
At the time of posting the Saturday looks like it will be fine and dry, Sunday it may rain….se la vie! www.zen169231.zen.co.uk/osow/frame1.htmwww.zen169231.zen.co.uk/luts/frameset.htm

Keep an eye out for the little rascal who turns up every year with his mum, last year he tried to pull out Syds ground stake that was holding a rather large kite down. Len.

There is a possibility of some members of a local group joining in at Radnor. They come along with Dave Styles aka Manky Badger to Teston. If I remember rightly they have called their group the ELFs.
Unfortunately I cannot be there, slight matter of grandson's christening.,
I have applied for height clearance of 1500 ft, I will send the CAA permit to Steve Palmer when I have received it.

ELF have been the local group for many years....
I remember joining them for a LUTS evening at Dymchurch many moons ago.....before I was "invited" to join KKF.................... Wasn't any wind then either.....!!!
It'll be good to have them coming along and make up the numbers....
Let's hope they bring their chairs too!!!!
