Due to this event clashing with the last weekend of Dieppe, I have informed the event organiser at Medway Council, that I cannot guarantee KKF attendance on Sunday 18th September and it will also affect BKF and Essex and maybe East Anglian Flyers. I have suggested move of date to 25th September and will await a reply in 2016.

To-day 16th February, I have received an e-mail from the event organisers that they have put Capstone Festival back a week from original date of 18th September to 25th September, so we are able to support it better with the change.

I am able to confirm that this event is going ahead, based on the successful format of last year, where kiteflyers of clubs had a large arena in which to display their kites, whilst the public were able to fly in a separate area.
Please let know if you are going to attend this year and any change of registration if you attended last year, as I still hold the list from last year. As previously Medway Council require a list of vehicle registrations for those attending and wishing to be by the flying area. As in previous years kiteflyers have to be in position by 10.30am the festival itself is from 11am to 4pm, as they require vehicles off the field by 5pm.

All members should have received an e-mail from me in regard to arrangements for Sunday. Vehicle to be parked adjacent to the arena, and preferably on either of the two sides away from the general melee of the public.

Weather forecast for tomorrow includes some light showers especially in the morning. Hopefully this will not put off any members especially as this is one of the events, to which KKF are committed, and was booked some months ago. See you there, unfortunately I will not be flying as KKf has been requested to bring along kites to sell to the public, which I will be doing.

Well what a blustery day. Capstone always seems to attract different weather, quite often rain. this year however the rain stayed away and we hade a very nice dry and eventually warm day with a very unkind blustery wind with great holes in it. However we persevered and despite the best attempts of the general public to invade the main kite flying arena we managed to put on a fairly good display of show kites for the bulk of the day. Many thanks to all who came, KKF members and those from as far afield as Essex and Dorset it was good to see you all there. Mike
