Weather. Rained overnight, drizzle at moment, as Peter stated the forecast is to clear up around lunchtime and brighten up as the afternoon goes on. I will venture up to Sunken Gardens somewhere between 12 and 1pm as out for most of the morning elsewhere.
" By the way Peter, it may be Margit down South, but otherwise it is Meregate ( gate to the Sea}"

Stop bickering you two.
Wet start in Maidstone. Will wait fit later reports to see whether I venture out. Lots of sewing to catch up on.

It has been light rain through the morning until about 10 minutes ago , when it stopped, appears to be getting lighter and warmer, wind around 10- 15mph. Just got in from whence I went, and will have a cuppa before venturing all the way to Sunken Gardens. expect I will be there around 12.30.
ps Gareth we are not bickering, just have a different viewpoint on the spelling and pronunciation of Margate.

We had almost written off as although not raining in Ashford the winds are stronger than the 10-15 Malcolm has posted you have at Marg.... We are just getting the car loaded and will then be on our way soon so likely to arrive around 2pm

Peter, Tim, Barbara and Mike came along and it was good to see Julian out flying.
When I arrived Peter was already struggling with his lifter kite with the wind, which was really gusting, The wind strength has increased substantially after my earlier posting. Peter lent me a Premier Crystal to fly as I did not have any suitable kites, but a after a few minutes flying, the crystal folded in on itself, not once but three times, fortunately without any damage.
It was overcast and really windy until about 2.30pm when it started to calm down and the sun made an appearance.
Mike flew his train of 12 small Ostend birds. Very I impressive.
All in all not a bad afternoon considering the earlier weather.

Glad you all managed to fly.
Rained here until early evening, by which time I had visited a number of local attractions including Lindisfarne Island.
Am looking forward to a decent days flying tomorrow though!
Just wish I had a few KKF companions here with me...although I have been made very welcome by the organisers...

It would be nice to fly up that way again but its a long way for a wet weekend. A lot of flyers can't even make it across the county let alone most of the country!

I did check the forecast before going!
Was dry yesterday and we had a very good day of flying with lots of public attending.
Will go again next year!
