As many of you know thei was suppose to be the weekend of the June Teston event, which was cancelled by KCC. There was also some discusssionas to wether or not it was the third weekend in June and not the second. It was one of those anomalies where it is definitely the second full weekend on June as the 1st of June was a Sunday and so technically was not a full June weekend.
I am have been informed it is father's day on Sunday 15th June, and I have never been one for the profiteering from this day by commercial organisations and it was one of those annoying habits brought in from America ( my personal view) and never encouraged my children to spend money on over inflated prices charged ( again my own opinion).
Now my rant is over sorry to all who read it, but next Sat/Sunday it was decided some time ago for flyers to come along and a have a fly in over the week-end, so come along and fly Sat/Sun both days or just one, but Sunday will be our club fly-in day. No parking on the field and please use car park, I understand the toilet block is still out of use, but there were some portable loos on site last time I was there a couple of weeks ago.

Good to hear that the loos are back in use.
The site is still looking a bit sad but the kites should lift the mood somewhat!!!
I won't be there as will be in North Wales and making a visit to the Beacon Park Kite Festival.
I hope you all have a great fly!!!

Well Saturday was a wow. There was a few light showers around lunch time but definitely not enough to bother anyone. The wind was light with the occasional bumpy bit but 20 or so different kites were flown with 7 in the air at the same time at one stage. Rons tree greedily swallow a pair of bumble Bee Yakkos flown by Jacqui but International Kite Rescue (the Grumpies) were soon on hand and impressed the public with a 'lifting' recovery. The recovery was so well received that Andrew Scott flew his bumbles into the tree just so another recovery could be videoed! We reluctantly left the park at 8.30pm just as the gate was closing.
I have to report that the toilets are indeed open and in good order. Far from being soggy, the ground is beginning to show signs of cracking and appears a little parched. The bridge, river, lock, fish swim and bank all look fine and with the grass and hedgerows now green and lush I have to say I could see no sign of the disaster that befell the park earlier in the year. The new benches also are quite innovative with a stone slab inserted in the top to withstand the ubiquitous BBQ!

The Elite KKF Members attended on Sunday with lots of the Public and all seemed to have Kites with them. It was sunny and warm also cold and windy and all things in between. Bill brought along a new Pole and Banner, ( I will whisper this, photos on my facebook site).
