The keen eyed amongst you will have spotted that this coming festival finishes on the Easter weekend. The 21st is Easter Monday. Also, this festival will play host to the World Sprots Kite Champioship, which the UK, in the form of the Scratch Bunnies currently reign supreme. Can anyone knock them off their perch?

OK folks, need answers fairly quickly. Jurgen at the hotel has been in touch to say he has a lot of bookings already but is holding some rooms for us, but needs to know whether we want the rooms.
Speaking with Bill, he is thinking we travel out on 16th (Wednesday) and travel back on Tuesday 22nd As mentioned previously the festival finishes on Easter Monday this year, so by doing that, we only need to take 3 days off work but still get a week away! I need to know who wants to come in the next week so I can confirm to the hotel. At the moment, I have confirmation from Barry & Janet and Bill.
For those who have never been to Berck and wonder what it is all about. Imagine a huge expanse of sandy beach covered in kites and kite flyers. An esplanade cleared of traffic and taken over by marquees for all sorts of things. A children's play area. Lots of restaurants, and plenty of wine. Saturday night is night flying and firework display. Not sure what we're going to do at lunchtime with the Bar de Bains closed, but I'm sure we'll find something. If the weather is nice, it is a fabulous place to fly kites. If the weather is horrible, there's plenty of other things to do. The hotel we stay at is a B & B called Le Littoral which is about 100 yards from the beach. It changed hands last year and was undergoing refurbishment, to a pretty good standard.
If someone wants to come and ty the Berck experience, let me know a.s.a.p.

I have spoken to Jurgen this evening who is looking forward to seeing us next year and asked me to say hello to you all from a very wet and windswept Berck

A whole week next year.....many thanks Gareth for your work with Jurgen on our behalf. Trust their weather improves in the next five months as I had hoped to sunbathe on the balcony

Jacqueline and I will be travelling out on Saturday 12th and are staying at the local A BIT Hotel. We won't leaving until the Tuesday and are taking a slow drive down to Holgate for their kite festival the following weekend.
