Steve I will try for photos, though it won't work too well if its raining. Give me a bit of practice for Nov 5th. Mike feel free to use any of my photos from my blog (or flickr) in magazine or club promotion (though most aren't that good)

Who ordered the Wind?, we said M not XXL, its blowing very hard in Ashford. Len. Len it is only a moderate Tropical storm wind. In Thanet has been a sharp wintry shower, which I hope we have kept to ourselves. I shall be departing in next 15 minutes or so. Now in process of putting 4th layer of clothing on. See those who are brave or foolhardy enough to venture out later this afternoon

I think Woodchurch probably had the best weather in the County today!
Even so, the wind was extremely blustery at times during the afternoon.
Although an enjoyable event, there was a distinct lack of public curiosity and support despite our efforts with publicity etc.
It is clear that methods of lighting up our kites are improving all the time which means that we are able to put on a reasonable show these days.
The wind garden is rapidly growing and to a very good standard. There was certainly a lot of noise today!!!
You will be pleased to hear that we actually raised £54.92 today. Many thanks to all those who contributed. I will now pay in to the bank and send the certificate off to the BBC so that we can get a mention on the Children In Need evening.

We enjoyed last evening, pity it was not a tad warmer, luckily the very gusty wind , dropped a bit, so the display of lit up kites was very impressive, just a shame the lack of interest from the locals, but probaly the cold put them off

The total has now increased to £65.00 due to extra a late donation and me rounding things up. If anyone else wishes to make a contribution please let me know before Wednesday.
Also, thanks to those kind peeps who helped me to pack up at the end of the day, much appreciated.

My thanks to all members who put on a superb show of kites with lights. I noticed some of the locals where watching form their windows, but there was hardly any support on the ground. Perhaps we shall have to change venues every year, so thinking caps on for next year.
Sorry I was not around to help people pack up and left earlier than I wanted to do so, but after the problems I have had with my back since June, and that it was starting to seize up I decided it was best to go when I did, especially as the heater in my car is not working properly.

Well done once again Kev. A great set of photos, illuminated kites are almost impossible to catch successfully despite all the clever settings on cameras these days Mike
