What a great day on Sunday - weather sunny and windy ensuring lots of kites, inflatables etc in the sky. It was great to see so many KKF there - we made it 23 but could well be wrong - some stopping , some day visitors. Everyone doing their own thing but at some time during the day gathering at base camp (otherwise known as chair city). We personally would like to thank Malcolm and Debbie for their company and safely transporting us there and back - when asleep the journey goes very quickly Barry and Janet

Yes, it was a particularly enjoyable day, and good to see everyone there. The weather certainly helped to lift not only the kites but our spirits too.
There were some lovely kites too, especially the Edo's and the Brassington kites.
I don't think I've ever seen so many people there before, not only on the field but also on the promenade.
It was a little bit like leaving Berck though with the traffic on the way home, but once on the A27 it was an easy journey back.

We had a great time, the weather was much better than forecast. Saturday a little bit windy but Barbara & I still braved the strong breeze to fly our red white & blue flowtails in the arena in the red white & blue section celebrating the Great in Britain. Sunday much nicer and very busy on the common. Loads of the public there to enjoy the day. Once again the flowtails were aloft in the arena very gratifying to have a member of the audiance come over and say how much they enjoyed our kites! (if anyone has photos of the red white & blue kites that they could send to me I would be very grateful as its difficult to fly and take photos at the same time)
Met up with the KKF day visitors at chair city and others along the way and had a great day.
Monday was just a good but with a more steady wind (180 degrees opposite to Sunday) had a good days flying and a wander round the common. Nearly lost a new aquisition as a member of the public thought that a ground bouncer pegged to the field "had been just blown away" and it would be ok if they helped them selves to it. I had to chase them along the field to recover it - you will have to wait and find out what it is!
Journey back was easier than expected, we left there about 5.30 and we made good time back home.
Highlights? The wonderful display of Edo's and the twin line exploits of Cerfs Volants Folies the French display team who flew in many configurations during the weekend from a team of 3 to a team of 11 and I think were the cream of the crop!
