How about coming to this end of the County for one of them? We can then welcome our Medway and South London members....

Being a member from the extreme west of the county I donot get to many fly-ins due to the cost of fuel and have recently being made redundant but losing my current flying site due to a small sporting event taken place (large screen on blackheath) I may venture out east for a change.

With the roots of the club being from Canterbury then SEKS its not suprising that events in the west are badly attended as it is a rare thing. I know from the past with the KKK (Kent kite Klub, which was fly-in at Blackheath and Tonbridge) that the CAA have a major say about activity with the M25 due to Heathrow, Gatwick and London city airports. May be woth if possible to have a breakdown as to where our members are within the county.

Tonbridge was venue for 27th May and again for 1st July (kite festival), perhaps another venue that has not been used for a while, could be considered?

Can't remember the exact name, but it is a park at Swanley.
I think the Kite Weekenders are having a week long bash at Sumners, so Archie and Tony and Paul are likely to be there, so turn out at Tonbridge will be lower than usual.
Teston Bridge road is currently closed I think.
If I head out this weekend I will probably keep it local. Mote Park, Ferry Field, or White Horse Wood

White Horse Wood or Dunorlan (which has loos) would be good for me.....
Swanley Park has been checked by me and reported back to various members of the committee. A few years ago it would have been ideal, but loos not open and any decent fly area is a long way from the car park which gets full very early in the day by dog walkers and shoppers.....

Which Day are we talking about? Moat Park sounds fine to me! Please some one make a decision!

Which Day are we talking about? Moat Park sounds fine to me! Please some one make a decision! I will consider all posts up to this evening and then I will have to call it for this Sunday at the moment I am leaning towards either White Horse Woods ( no facilities and a parking fee) and Mote Park ( facilities but difficulty with parking if a nice day)

Moat Park would get my vote if between those two locations. White Horse Wood, parking charge, no toilets and bloomin long walk from car with kites etc. Moat Park, free parking, toilets, cafe and a short stroll from parking (assuming there are spaces left!) No Contest! Mike PS. Moat Park also closer to home!
