There is nothing on the Calendar, so where do we fly?. The Green at Woodchurch should be free, as the Cricket Team are Away according to the Fixture List. Walmer ( has the Fair gone yet ). Faversham Rec ( are the loos open on a Sunday ?) Etc, Etc.

The Sports Development guy from Swale said that the loos at Faversham are open daylight hours. It might be worth a shot. Not a good site in winter as it hosts 3 football pitches & a Rugby pitch!

For Peter's benefit Malcolm has said in another post "As some-one has to make a decision and at the moment I am out of action. I am going to go with MOTE PARK for this Sunday and will be e-mailing all members.
Could we go back to how we use to initially consider where to fly, it would be those flying would come up with and initial suggestion, i.e those who attend Mote Park, make a unified suggestion about 5th August."
{Sorry Peter couldn't resist it ;D }

My mistake!!!! Its SO obvious that the specific title 'Sunday 29th' has been superseded by the vague and updated title 'Next two Sundays'. Trouble is I DON'T have endless hours of recreation with which to brows leisurely the internet -I do it on the hoof and go for the OBVIOUS headings!

Hope you all got off the field before the heavens opened?
Mela and music concert still "thumping away" in Dunorlan Park..Shame it wasn't better advertised as quite a decent event....

Weather wasn't too bad. Very lumpy wind but no rain during the afternoon. A band of 3 grew to 5 as Bill and Matt turned up.

And, we survived another Rocket attack!. I got there early ( 11.40 ) and got caught in a downpour, put all including me back in the car. then Steve arrived bringing sunshine, so back out came damp kites and me to dry out. Gareth then Matt then Bill swelled our group. Did I mention that there was a Fair on the field pumping out Muzak, also lots of Gazebos with extended families playing rounders etc, the Ol****cs has brought out the competetive side in people. ( I was not sure if I was allowed to say the word Olympic, bugger ive said it now, will I get in trouble? ).

I should not worry about the OLYMPIC's it is a big CON. We set up our free-stat recorder to record some of the events only to fined no recording. after 3 hours of checking, it turns out that it will record any Chanel bar BBC OLYMPIC. The makers said they are working on it but think it is dun on purpose by the BBC. CON 2 empty seats we cant get any, CON 3 you cant take in your one food and drink, you have to bye theirs have you seen there prices. Sorry I have to let off steam some wear.

spoke to a couple of folk: one when I said could I help said I hoped you would offer {he'd just spent 45mins trying to fly a stunt kite on 8foot of line} very pleased with the advice and said he'd look us up some time possibly Capstone has he lives in Maidstone The second really pleased as I showed him what the wrist straps that he had left at home should be used for! His mum was chuffed as well!

I agree that if you are on the receiving end it does all feel like a con.....
I used to feel this way about a lot of events until I started running events myself......(albeit on a miniscule scale)....
You have to cover costs somehow....especially to ensure there is enough money at the end to support the next one or to pay back what you owe to those who have put the effort in.... We wanted the olympics...and someone has to pay...
We expect to get everything for nothing in this country......and then wonder why our taxes go up!!!
I'm not a Conservative before anyone asks.....but "you pays your money you get your choice".......

Oh and the empty seats?
I have heard several people say that they paid for seats but have then decided that they don't want to go because they are not interested!!!!
How fair is that?
