Its very short notice but is anyone able to fly kites at this event.
'In summary, we will be opening our doors to 1,300 children from 28 local primary schools to be welcomed to an Olympiad day celebrating the Olympic spirit. The day will begin from 10am as we welcome the children, with the boys from Tonbridge school acting as their hosts, and escorting them to over 40 activities on offer. Each primary school is to represent an Olympic country, with team and individual events running as competitions, in morning and afternoon sessions, with a break for communal lunch on the school pitches. In terms of your kites, they would make a wonderful spectacle at any part of the day, and we could encourage the children to come and visit the kites and see if they can help fly them at any time of the day when they are not occupied with their activities. The afternoon sports fair is open to the general public who I am sure would be interested in seeing the kites and talking to you. '

Malcolm,
I dont think that the timing has much to do with people supporting an event, judging by the number of people droping out of the Eco event. It seems to be a sign of the times or just a difficult period for members.

I think the date of the Event does have a bearing, mid summer is obviously a time for holidays, and mid week events are worse especially as a lot of members work, and have limited holidays to fit in all that they want to do. Just my humble opinion Sue

I just wish I had that much control over my diary! Also, even long term arrangements get changed...as circumstances vary from the point of agreeing to attend.... I can usually do short term as will often be an opprtunity to get a client or two involved in a community event...but on this occasion I have to take a client to Chatham to the dentist who put's his patients out......!!!! I know where I'd rather be!!!!
