Weather permitting Fly-in Sunday 15th October will be at the Racecourse Park, Tonbridge, Kent. TN9 1HF is the postcode quoted for the park. I usually park in the car park off The Slade. What3words ///oval.claim.supply should get you there. Wherever you park you will need to carry your gear over the river. We usually fly on the NE side of the park not far from the children's play area. Mike Next Sunday 22nd October Walmer Sunday 29th October The Lade (I'm sorry Milton Creek but until the roads are sorted It's almost impossible to know how to get there also car park now closes at 16.00)

As you walk past the youth shelter you will notice that it is all looking clean and smart. I spent the day with one of my YP's painting it and he worked so hard and is very proud of what he achieved in one day. I would really appreciate some supportive remarks to share with him. Thanks :-)

There is an Oktoberfest event taking place in the park this weekend and taking up about the same amount of space as the previous food festival the last time we flew at Tonbridge.
Should you have difficulty parking you are most likely to find space in the River Lawn car park nearby just off Avebury Avenue. Hopefully though, most people will be walking to the event or using public transport.

What a lovely afternoon, after enjoying an hour of extremely slow moving traffic on the M20 car park we eventually arrived at the park to find James and Steve I with kites in the air, Gareth with a kite on the ground in his chair enjoying the sunshine chatting with Sue and Gerty. The wind, forecast at 6 - 16 mph, forgot to turn up and we had to keep a careful watch for light breezes to be able to take advantage of them when they arrived.
However, despite the chill in the air it was a lovely day enhanced by watching the workers taking down the Octoberfest "Big Top" which was still being dismantled as we left at 5.30 ish. All in all another good day for the Kent Kite Picnickers.
