No organised fly-in again this week as we will be supporting The Blackheath Society's Kite day on Blackheath. For details please see the relevant thread in Events. It is One Sky One World, World International kite fly for peace this Sunday. If you can't make it to Blacjheath perhaps you can fly a kite wherever you are to join the kite chorus in the air for world peace. Mike Next Sunday 15th October Tonbridge Sunday 22nd October Walmer

Sorry, I cannot be there this year. Presently in Side in Turkey. Will hopefully make Tonbridge next week, if we catch up on our chores after we return. Regards James

I did try to fly a kite for One Sky One World, wherever I was, but failed miserably as not even the tail would flutter in the totally non-existent breeze.
Did anyone do any better ?

Thanks to all who came along to Blackheath to put some colour in the sky. It was great to see so many kites flying in the afternoon. Huge vote of thanks to Barbara, who is understandably exhausted after selling our entire stock of kites.
I have already received a note from the Blackheath Society thanking us for putting on a show.

I did try to fly a kite for One Sky One World, wherever I was, but failed miserably as not even the tail would flutter in the totally non-existent breeze. Did anyone do any better ? Blackheath was a great success, all of the organisers went out of their way to thank us for attending. The wind was non existant when we arrived with an extremely light breeze, light wind kites only. Then the crowd surge started and I left my kite in the car to assist Barbara with sales. The wind picked up and for an hour or so was quite reasonable, along with the public we had hundreds of kites in the air. Blackheath was an absolute picture. Wind tailed off later but was picking up as we packed up. Despite having kites left over from last weekend when sales were slightly disappointing we completely sold out! Many thanks to all who came along, thanks for all your efforts in the "arena". Big vote of thanks to Barbara who struggled manfully with the surge of demand from the public at one stage it was absolutely manic. See you all at Tonbridge next Sunday Mike
