Tonbridge - on grass - this Sunday (2nd May), we fly on the racecourse park which is nicely surrounded by the river Medway so wherever you park you will need to carry your gear from the car. For anyone who has not been there before, there are several car parks around the park all with bridges over the river giving access to the enormous park. We normally fly on the grass not far from the childrens play area at the swimming pool end of the park. Look forward to seeing all who can make it, socially distanced of course. Mike Fly-in next week 9th May by the sunken garden on Royal Esplanade St Mildreds Bay, Margate

Will not be at Tonbridge as we are booked to meet up with sister-in law, for first time since the latest lockdown. At the moment I will at The Sunken Gardens Royal Esplanade Westbrook, Margate ( above St Mildreds Bay )

I plan on being at Tonbridge on Sunday, will be coming down on the train from Central London. I had a very enjoyable afternoon at Blackheath yesterday. Nice steady breeze although a bit strong at times. There were lots of families around, as there is a Funfair being held nearby. There were also lots of families in the park and quite a few kites in the sky, also a kite buggy rider having a good time and a rev flyer. Very nice day.

Great turnout on a chiily but reasonable afternoon. Managed to survive with only one short shower that didn't get us very wet. Once the wind arrived we were able to get a good number of kites into the air, just wish I had remembered my camera. Good to see everyone who came along including some faces not seen for quite a while due to the pandemic. Good social distancing observed all afternoon. Barbara & I were accompanied by James & Tori who had a great time, James in particular loved flying his mum's face rok and ended up with my Brasington delta. Tori was delighted when Barbara got out her Brasington Victoria kite. First outing for our small pod of Peter Lynn Blue Whale workchop kites which flew well in the cooling breeze. Looking forward to flying in Margate next week, hope you can all make it there and the current forecast is wrong. Mike
