Saturday, yes Saturday 7th November Ad Hoc LUTS (Light Up The Sky) fly-in. Socially distanced of course on the beach to the rear of the "Borrowpit" car park at Walmer. The large car park to the town side of the toilet block closes at 8.30pm, However the small car part to the right of the toilet block is open 24hrs. The toilets close at 6.00 so beware! Suggest we meet sometime around 4.00pm, weather permitting. Wrap up warm and bring torches and your illuminated kites to Light Up The Sky. If anyone asks we are lighting up the sky for BBC Children in need and encourage anyone who asks to go online and donate to the charity appeal. We will not be collecting money. Keeping fingers crossed the weather behaves. Mike

After this evenings announcement from Boris (something always makes me want to add "the spider" but just showing my age I guess) things have changed somewhat. As I understand it the rules are stay at home, work from home if possible, no unnecessary journeys, no mixing of households indoors although you may meet up with one person from another household in an outdoor public space. Check here www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-52530518This effectively puts a block on our idea of an evening fly-in next Sunday. I think to attempt to meet up to fly kites would be pushing the boundarys to far and we should not be seen to be encouraging others to do likewise. So I am cancelling any plans and will not be flying on Nov 7th. Its a great shame but it's only for 4 weeks and hopefully we will emerge from the lockdown still in a medium risk area and will be back to flying together in groups of six. In the meantime please all stay safe and I will see you on the other side. Mike
