It is a lovely sunny day as I sit in London. Hopefully it will stay this way for Easter (yes that now means blizzards!)
Easter Sunday 1st April, I think we should head East as we haven't been in that direction for quite a while. Palm Bay anyone?

Palm Bay sounds good fully exposed to the 'Beast from the East' should it return as certain 'Red Tops' suggest!

If it is a really nice weekend Margate will be busy so will take time getting down and through to Palm Bay. Just have to wait for the weather situation, will know better by Friday

Just a reminder, that shops will be closed all day on Easter Sunday 1st April, with few exceptions. There is always the beer festival at the Winter Gardens.

Forecast seems to change by the day, but latest as Stephen has posted is reasonable, cloudy, between 6-8 c.
Just have to keep fingers crossed that the weather is suitable

Current weather forecast is dry, 7°c with easterlies of 7 mph.....would seem light to low end medium kites are the order of the day although if there's any wind Palm Bay will make the best of it.

Sorry got my facts wrong about the beer festival it is only taking place on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, so it is not an alternative for Sunday

Blinking heck its wet out there today! Just as well Palm Bay is on the chalk cliffs, so hopefully reasonably good drainage should get all the water soaked away by Sunday.
Well I can dream can't I?

I think the Isle of Thanet is becoming an island again, Lucky where I live the sea has not risen so still draining down the hill into the sea.

Just an update on weather on the Isle of Thanet, in Margate, very damp underfoot, no rain since I arose around 8am, hazy sunshine at the moment, light wind around where I live in Margate.

I was there first followed by Malcolm and Debbie then Mike and Barbara followed by Gareth and finally Steve. The winds were always light but Gareth managed to get his pilot/Trilobite combo up and I lofted my Mantaray and Chinese Dragon. By 2pm the wind was not enough to lift them so we all went for lighter wind kites (Garudas, Grace and Louise etc) before dropping down to Genkis and Rollers. In the end Steve was flying his indoor Zero-G and I was flying a RAM. Just as we were packing up for the day the wind came up a bit which allowed Gareth to fly his Morgan box. A great day was had by all and the sky had a kite in it nearly the whole afternoon. Well done everyone, it was great to fly with you.
