I'm getting a bit fed up. Keep going places, taking completely the wrong set of kites, and not flying at all! But looking out of my office window at the moment, it's a glorious day and the wind has almost completely disappeared (thick fog when I left home this morning).
Anyway, Barbara suggested we may want to head down to Walmer this coming Sunday, as part of our care in the community campaign for the aged and infirm members of our little group who live in that direction. I'm more than happy to make the trip, and could possibly bring red cross parcels as well for the needy! What about anyone else?

Hope to find an hour or two to come down to Walmer, just so much to do at moment.

Unfortunately my hay fever has hit me with a vengeance this morning and the new treatment (started yesterday) has not yet taken effect....so don't think I will make it to Walmer today.
Hope you all have a good day of flying and make sure you look after our C.I.T.C. friends!!!

What a great afternoon. Good turnout including the C.I.T.C's. Many kites flown and crouds of locals entertained. I lost count of the number of people asking whethere there would be another kite day on the beach, all delighted to learn we would be there later this year. Finished the day with fish and chips on the promenade wall by Deal pier with Barbara & Steve. More days like this please Mike

Sorry I did not make it, coffee turned into lunch, so had no time to journey to Walmer. Did manage to get three kites out on Palm Bay cliftop, as friends wished to have a fly. very little wind though, so only managed to f;y one to 50 ft or so.

I did unravel the long tailed octopus. I even managed to get the octopus into the air, unfortunately the tails didn't follow! It needed more wind, but I'm not convinced it would have climbed any higher anyway. We'll see. I can see that managing it amongst people could be a big challenge. to echo Mikes comments, it was a great afternoon. We had lots of people taking photos asking about the kites, etc. I think our facebook page saw more activity yesterday than it has ever seen! 20170402_135126 by Gareth Williams, on Flickr

Assuming that we are the CITC's we thank you all very much for suggesting Walmer. Armed with chairs and the conveniently placed benches we had a great afternoon catching up with everyone and managed to stay until the end. The public were so appreciative with kind comments, it was good to let the children have a fly with our kites, and with the assorted inflatables aloft the ground between the paddling pool and the Lifeboat House was covered. A great afternoon.
