Advanced notice, I have been approached several time s by Kristan Staples who is the ranger responsisble for Milton Creek Country Park. Some years ago it was Kristian who commenced The Capstone Kite Festival and made it into a weekend event.
He now wishes to hold an event next year at Milton Creek Country Park and I have agreed with him to have a fly -in on Sunday 23rd October. KKF have flown at the park in the past. Entranc e ius by some heavy duty double gates, which he will arrange to be unlocked and there is car parking close to the flying area. He holds a key to the community centre where there are toilets so will be able to have access to the facilities.

We will not be attending, too far for us to travel. Sue I realised that fly-ins in the east of Kent are too far for you to travel. Kristian the park ranger is looking at holding a kiting event in 2017 so wishes to have a trial fly-in. It is a pity no council, park rangers, local parish councils from West of Kent, seem to request us to come along and fly. Still I am trying to direct some fly-ins over to Tonbridge, Hythe and Greatstone.

The problem now with Hythe and Greatstone is the toilets are closed for the winter.

Would appear that public toilets are either being shut completely or shorter hours,so at moment limited to Tonbridge Park over in the west.

I have spoken with Kristian this morning, and he confirms all ok for Sunday. He will be expecting members from around 10.45. I am away from early hours of Friday morning visiting family in the state of Nicola ( stamp my foot as I cannot get my own way) and her cronies. Do not need a passport as yet.
I do have Kristian's mobile number if any-one wants it, just in case. Please p.m me if you do as I am unhappy about posting it on an open forum.

For those members arriving after 11am the gates will be left unlocked, and would any-one accessing late, please close the gates behind them so the public are unable to see that there is access through the gates.

What a great afternoon! Arrived to find the new Opera masks in the sky. Wind was a bit fierce initially but settled down later to provide us with a good afternoon filling the sky with colour. Lots of local interest with several people seeing the kites in the sky and wandering over to take a look, lots of smiling faces. There are photos aplenty on Facebook HEREAll in all a successful fly-in on a lovely little flying site with a very enthusiastic ranger. Kris seemed very happy. Mike

Echo that. Really smooth winds coming off the estuary made for a great afternoon in the sun. My photos are here Some of them are in the facebook link that Mike posted, but if you aren't a facebooker, then you won't be able to get to them. I also sent a couple to Monica Lou at Weifang kite factory who has also posted them in this album
