Quoting from the Kite Weekenders group...
Hi all,
The time has arrived to start getting the camping and car passes ready
Could you please send an email to dave@brkf.org with your details.
Camping Pass: Reg No Vehicle Make Motorhome - Caravan - Tent email address
Car Parking Pass: Reg No Vehicle Make email address
There will be some spaces available in the car park as last year, when that is full vehicles will be on the flying field. This of course means you have to arrive before the start, and vehicle movement will be restricted until teatime ish.
The camping arrival time is currently set for 4pm on Friday, I am trying to get this changed to 2pm if possible.
Thanks

This was my first time at Bognor, I travelled there and back on Saturday. Having got a car park pass, I was glad to arrive with spaces still available as it was a small car park. It was not far to walk to the flying area, which was a bit on the small side, especially with large inflatables dominating the arena at times. I felt that the arena could have been extended on all sides by several yards. Met up with several members who were camping as well as Mike and Barbara who had also come along for the day.
The wind was awful all day, gusting and very lumpy and bumpy. Try to fly a couple of kites including my recent purchase "Police Box" from Sky Bums, it launched and then decided to fly like the Dr.Who Tardis, all over the sky. Even a Flow Tail struggled. In between trying to fly and wandering around the stalls, there was time to catch up with other kiteflyers, as well as sit and watch the struggles of those flying inflatables. Whilst I was there, we did not get the forecasted downpour of rain, although after I left I drove into torrential rain about 15 miles away, I hope it did reach to flying field and spoil the rest of late afternoon and evening. I understood that there was to be a night fly with lights and fireworks.
An interesting day, but for me it is on the limit as to how far to go in a day, being almost as far east in Kent as you can be.

You got the day wrong, Sunday was a much better day! These Brighton boys stole some of our chairs I think, but they promised to give them back at Brighton Kite Festival next weekend P1000159 by Gareth Williams, on Flickr

Too true Gareth, in getting day wrong, I do not think going to Bognor this year on Sunday would have gone down well here, as 5 year grandon's birthday party.
