OK, shall we say Hythe then. We fly on the Recreation Grounds opposite the Swimming Pool and start at around 11.30ish, probably using 200foot Maximum Height clearance. If any non Members are reading this, you are welcome to come and join us. Kite Buggies are not allowed.

Sitting having breakfast watching the rain falling in stair rods here in Bristol. Doesn't look like stopping any time soon. Hope you have a better day at Hythe Mike :?( We did not, I arrived at 11.30 Sue and Steve already set up but little wind. In the distance on the beach two kids kites were flying well. Steve was flying a paper Indian Fighter and I struggled to get my Roller aloft, just when I managed to get it above the height of the nearby buildings it started to rain and appeared to be set in for the duration. Rob and family arrived just before the rain and the two young ones spent some energy flying their kites. Gareth arrived in the rain and sheltered under the tree with us. I left for home with wet every thing and the roads in Hythe were very busy. Hey Ho better luck next Weekend. Len.

I arrived a bit later, it had started to rain as I was driving through Sandgate and so continued to the flying site in Hythe, to find Steve, Sue and Gareth taking shelter under a tree. Len, Rob and family had alreday left. The rain was steady rather than heavy, Gareth left after about 30 minutes, Steve , Sue and I stayed under the tree for a bit longer, hoping the rain would stop. In the end we went to our cars to have a drink and lunch. We had decided that if it did not stop raining we would leave, which I did and as I was coming out of Sandgate into Folkestone , the rain eased and eventually stopped until I got back to Thanet.

Was nice to meet people, shame no wind and raining. Decided with the young ones and dogs to head back to our caravan on the marsh. Watched the gp had a doze and the weather was sunny and breezy so managed to fly a kite in the camping field.
