I am moving discussion on this event from members page to this one.
Bill and I had a discussion with the vice chair of Walmer Parish Council, in regard to a possible kite festival based in deal, He was asking us about it being on the Green at Walmer, which many of the KKF members have used in the past for fly-ins and especially for LUTS. It was a positive meeting at there is a possible larger site. During our discussions he ask if we could attend the above event on Saturday 15th August. Bill offered to bring along the Teddy Bear Parachuting equipment for demonstration purposes only as it may be difficult in regard to the landing area, as there are other participants on the afternoon.
We do have a small flying area allocated between the children's play area and the Bandstand, but will depend on the wind direction as if it is feasible. We shall take along a gazebo and do a ground static display as well and also promote Kent Kite Flyers.
Please note that you will not be able to park your car alongside where we are flying, but I will try to negotiate being allowed to park close by as they are using some of the Green close to the Lifeboat station as parking.
Len has stated he can come along
Any-one else interested please let me know soonest so as I may confirm how many parking spaces we shall require.

I have juts received a message from the parish council clerk, that after a meeting of the events committee, they do not wish for KKF to participate in the above event. I have been asked to attend a meeting of the committee in September to discuss having a stand-alone kite event.
