Following on from conversation today at Teston, the Toby carver at Basingstoke apparently used to be a facility for sports and dog racing and was built in 1818...before Art Decor!!!

The GOG's were there today.... They were passing through on their way to Fano, KKF turned up on Sunday, but the wind was usual Teston, changeable. Nice to be out with fellow members.

The Toby Carvery is in the house called Down Grange. It used to be a stud farm that bred Irish Arabian race horses. There were never any dogs there other than the family pets. My father worked there as a child and I worked there from 1962 until 1966, evenings and weekends, as a stable lad.
