Had a day out at Basingstoke, forgot it was Epsom Derby day so had plenty of traffic from Clacket Lane through to Junction 8, wondered why people were wandering through in their finery to have a McDonalds, thought initially it was a wedding party having a stop for brunch. M3 also bit of a nightmare due to roadworks 50mph limit.
Met up with some KKKF members who had decided to camp, special thanks to Barbara and Mike for allowing us to share the awning of their trailer tent. Very blustery conditions, demonstration teams were struggling with the variable wind conditions which was virtually no wind at low level and then all over the place over from about 150 ft. Even those who had large inflatables and flying in the top field struggled with lifters and the inflatables.
Still a nice day out and good company, journey back was a completely different ballgame, traffic was flowing well all the way home, as we left later than expected and missed the bulk of the traffic from Epsom.

If proof were needed It was great to see you both at a wonderful kiting weekend. Many thanks to the Lodden Valley kite Flyers who organised a great event. Mike
