The date has been booked for definite, just need the weather to be good on both days
Camping on site from Friday morning until Monday morning with miniumu donation of £10 per unit up to 4 persons, this goes towards the costs of the weekend.
Height Clearance is being obtained for the hours of 11.00 to 17.00 on both Saturday and Sunday.
Jai from Hi-az- akite will be trading, this will be one of her last kite events so should be some good bargains to be had. For fhose who do not know she is retiring from trading at all events and festivals at the end of the season, hope she will find the time to come along and fly at events in the future.
A caterer has been booked to be on site over the week-end.
Free event for the public, so as usual be aware of the public using the field as in the past.
Please contact me for any further details

Please note that a member has expressed concerns that public may turn up and camp without agreement in advance, with no kites or just one, so I have amended the poster and will send out by e-mail for those who wish to print and display. I did not know how to upload as it was too large for an attachment to this post

You may be too late... It is in the wild on facebook Never mind, just hope that any-one who wasn't camping who is not a regular will get in contact. I need a paracetamol or two now or is that a large single malt whisky

Should the Poster have mentioned that a Caterer and also a Vendor of Kites will be in attendance?.

Should the Poster have mentioned that a Caterer and also a Vendor of Kites will be in attendance?. In my experience you can have too much on a poster, and most public, just want to know what the event is, where and when.

Jacqui and I should be arriving around lunchtime and I will try to keep an eye on those that are camping. Should there be any 'suspicious' looking people I will advise them that it is a kiting event and that there is a £10 charge (minimum) for the weekend. The weather looks good although the winds look light so I'm quite sure a good weekend will be had by all. I will collect the camping money over the course of Saturday and think it probably easier if we limit it to one person doing the collecting. Are we going to have feathers again this year and will they be issued as a 'receipt' for camping (I could write "camping" on them when they are used for that and then they could also be sold separately without "camping written on them for say £1.50 )

Peter
I could possible print off a few KKF compliment slips which could be used as receipts for camping. We are not allow to undercharge for car parking which is now £2 per day. This becomes difficult as KKF members are allowed to car park on the field without charge as it is our event and have not been charge before, whereas campers have always been requested to donate but cannot reduce the donation for camping for those who are KKF members as may antagonise others. Perhaps we can have further discussion on Friday when you arrive.

Peter,
Janet has said we have sufficient feathers for you to use as a receipt for camping, and charging £1.50 for any additional ones sold will be fine.

What a great but slightly strange weekend. Wonderful weather, Teston winds, loads of people but little kite interaction. Understandable on Saturday with such low winds but strange on Sunday with loads of ballgames but not so many public kiters as in previous years. Great BBQ on Sat evening, many thanks to all involved but especially to the Chef and sous chef Bill & Jenny. It was good to see so many KKF members there Looking forward to next year Mike PS: If anyone would like to put their Teston experiance down in print please do so and email me a copy for the Windjammer
