I have received an e-mail to-day from Jon Barker apologising for not contacting us earlier but inviting Kent Kite Flyers to go the Kite Event on Sunday 23rd March, entrance as previously. The public are invited from 2pm to 5pm. Tea and biscuits will be provided.
I am applying for CAA height clearance and hope it can be acheived in time

For all those who have not been to the lighthouse before here are directions provided to me by Jon Barker the first time we went there by car. Directions to the Lightouse:
Drive through the village of St Margaret’s at Cliffe, in the direction of the coast. You drive down a gentle hill past a school and up the other side.
On the right hand side at the top, there are two turnings. Take the second on the right. St Margaret’s road, follow down and take the fork to the left. You are now on Goodwin road, follow through houses onto track. Follow onto the end of track and turn left at the junction, follow the road down and take the next right.Looking forward to the day, weather forecast isnt looking to good at present but there is time for it to get worse Mike

Wendy and I should be there with our Brolleys, a good gusting wind should help me break another spar, shame about the height clearance.

Sorry we could not get there but looked like you all had a good time despite the Hail storm.
Great shots Len and the video is fantastic it captured the moment well.
Best regards, Mike and Sue

A great turnout from KKF members, commented on by a delighted South Foreland Lighthouse team! They apologised for the storms and lack of children but were delighted by the display. The wind garden attracted more than a little interest and managed to keep the neighbours awake all afternoon. The kite display was good with a wide range of our kites in the air at times when the wind and thunder storms allowed. We returned home slightly damp, frozen through but with smiles on our faces. Thanks to everyone who braved what turned out to be a much better day than forecast. Mike Oh yes, great photos Len!
