A local charity in Ramsgate where KKF have taken Teddy bear parachuting equipment along in the past for their teddy bears picnic event. This is held in King George VI park Ramsgate. Members who have come along in the past or are coming along to this event to assist the with the teddy bear parachuting, please note that we have been requested to be set up by 11.30am and the barrier to the park will be down and should be marshalled to allow participants into the park. Any problems on the day please contact Sarah Gough 07980853362

Bill, Janet, Barry, Malcolm and myself are completely Knackered as we were told that the people on the Certificate table issued 350 Plus and we know that lots of the children came back again and again to Parachute their Teddys so an estimate would be over 400!. That's the good news, the bad news is that Malcolm had his car damaged while there. Len.

Just to add my car was damaged outside the event as we had to park in roads around the park. Rear bumper scraped by a driver who did not stop, but was witnessed and the matter is now in the hands of the police as a possible uninsured driver.
Our efforts on the teddy bear parachuting were appreciated by the organisers ( who even provided lunch- which was fortunate as the burger van ran out of supplies twice). Lovely comments from many who were accompanying the children about our efforts.
My personal thanks to Len, Barry, and Janet, but especially to Bill who has to load his car with the equipment and then near on 2 hour drive, and through all our efforts managed to find enough uplift to keep the kite in the Air for nearly 7 hours, even though there was little wind when we arrived.

A wonderful day in hot sunshine all the time - have sunburnt feet to prove it. Children and parents delightful and the menagerie of animals parachuted all landed safely. The organisation was superb and my personal thanks to Bill and Len for letting me sit most of the time (perhaps because I put the chutes on upside down!)
