I have been contacted by the head of Tonbridge School in regard to following up on our involvement in last years community day at the school. As last year it will be about members flying kites and allowing use of the club kites to mostly primary and junior school children
the date is Sat 22nd June, before I can confirm with the head, I need to know if we have members who are willing to attend. I have already posted the following in the members section and thanks to members who have already replied. I am now opening it out to those who are unable to open the members section.
"If possible I would like to let him know by the end of this week. please find following comments he has sent about last year's contribution by KKF
" it was a great success and a brilliant finale to a project which had run all year. We also had lots of favourable comments from school staff and the general public about how great the kites looked down on the lower field

Sorry for delay in reply - have had workman at house all week. This was a thoroughly enjoyable event last year - a superb school and grounds and great children attending. Only sorry that due to holiday will not be able to attend this year. Barry

As I’m sure you will remember, access to the school playing fields is via the Tonbridge School Centre entrance off London Road, opposite Dry Hill Park Road. You can arrive any time from about noon depending on how long you think is needed… The visiting children will arrive at around about 1:30 and will already have made some simple kites to use as well as having loan of club kites which have been passed onto Gareth

Arrived late due to heavy traffic between T.Wells and Tonbridge, but was just in time for the arrival of the children from their kite making workshop joining Gareth and Bill. The wind was strong and very blustery which destroyed many of their kites. The kids enjoyed flying the few suitable club kites we had available for them to borrow. I wanted to stay and take the opportunity of the vast flying space to fly my new flo-tails but the wind was just that bit too strong. An enjoyable afternoon nonetheless.
