I haven't looked at the weather prospects, but assuming they are favourable, anyone up for a fly this weekend? Unfortunately, due to health reasons, I will need to be within a short walk of toilet facilities, which, I guess, limits me to Walmer or The Lade.

The lade would suit us weather permitting

With morning rain predicted over quite a large area, grass would not be a good idea so Walmer and the Lade would be the only sensible options. The earliest I can set out would be 11.30 am so I'm somewhat limited as to how far I can travel but depending on where you choose, I'm up for it.

The Lade sounds ok for us, weather permitting. My app is currently showing rain finishing at 12.00 with winds 16 to 35mph, by 13.00 no rain with wind 11 - 16mph. Hoping that the latter is correct, winds gradually decreasing during the afternoon. Mike

So let's assume the Lade, weather permitting, and update on Sunday morning.

It doesn't look promising here in Maidstone...

Just back from Walking the boy. Dry here at the moment, but clouding up again. I'm erring on the side of staying at home, but happy to be persuaded otherwise.

So we called the weatherman's bluff and what a wonderful afternoon we had. Arriving to overcast conditions having driven through rain on the way, the clouds slowly broke up and the sun came out granting us a wonderful spring day. The wind wasn't to bad with some gusts but a long distance from the gusty conditions forecast. Barbara & I joined Steve, Sue, Gareth, Bill & Jenny. All kite flyers put something in the air and despite an extremely dark cloud threatening us we had no rain at all. Well entertained by the coastguard helicopter hovering across the bay we left driving into a spectacular sunset! Mike
