You may be aware that Alan and Marion Pothecary have decided to downsize their collection of kites. I've received the following email from Alan, together with the attachments.
You may have already been made aware of our list of kites for sale.
I have attached the updated proposals for your perusal.
I know that the club itself would not be interested in making purchases but I would like to use our facilities for networking.
There may be friends of members that might be interested or people that might group together in a little venture adventure!
Is it possible to get it on our website for me please - I have no idea how to do that - or maybe the next news letter as well?
We are keeping a few kites including a couple of trainers and would love to come along and join in with a club event at some point.
As you probably know, through lack of mobility, we have not been giving our kites the air time they deserve and, reluctantly, have decided to sell them on.
We want to give friends and kiters we know first chance of buying one or both collections.
We will start to publish more widely after 20th June.
People have asked if they can “Cherry Pick” but that’s not the way we want go - Too much for us to get into now.
However, buying a job lot and selling off what you don’t want could easily reduce the outlay!
We will be holding on to just a few kites in case we want to join in on some events in a small way or take some on holiday.
There’s quite a few bits and pieces not listed in the sale that will be included - things like spinners tails and oddments.
Single line kites will work out at around £30 per kite and Multi line at only £25 per kite and even less than that as a job lot!
So then, take a look at the list - I have been as fair as I can be with my assessment of condition and you’ll see we are asking a very fair price.
On the question of delivery - It’s going to be a UK mainland sale - unless you want to come and get them!
The price will include free delivery up to a round trip of 200 miles from Andover in Hampshire and 40p per mile after that.
We are asking £3k for the single line kites and £1.8k for the multi line kites by bank transfer.
If someone buys the whole lot then we will reduce the price to £4k and deliver, free, up to a round trip of 300 miles from Andover.
We would really appreciate if you would pass this on to other kiting buddies or members of your club.
We can be contacted in the first instance at kitedisplays@gmail.com
There are several kites I would be keen to add to my collection, but cannot justify buying them all, and incurring the wrath of my good lady wife!
