This Sunday 9th April Fly-in at The Lade Lydd on Sea. We will be flying on the beach somewhere near the junction of Coast Drive and Williamson Road. For What3Words users ///unsecured.fragments.cake should get you pretty close. We tend not to use the carpark due to the parking charges, so we park in the road on the coast side where the yellow lines end. I had considered Tonbridge but rain forecast there in the afternoon Lydd forecast currently dry, 10 degrees, winds E 4 - 8 mph. Mike P.S. I was going to suggest an Easter Monday fly-in at Palm Bay on Monday, currently watching the weather forecast that is suggesting winds gusting to 28mph in the afternoon. Will wait and see if that changes and will post later in the week. M

Just as well we had't planned to fly at Tonbridge... The river has gone over (yesterday) and the entire field is a lake yet again...It really has been a wet and soggy few months!!! Will keep you updated on the status of the site for future fly-ins...

Palm Bay is nicely dry underfoot (as always), looks like I chose a good day to go there to fly kites. Bank Holiday Monday on the other hand is looking distinctly wet and windy; not sure I'll be there to fly that day.

Interesting day today at The Lade. Left Ashford in bright sunshine arrived to find it rather gloomy with just a little sea mist. The temperature was comfortable, wind was light and came and went somewhat during the afternoon but we all managed to fly something. Standing on that lovely beach in the sunshine watching as the toilet block down the road disappeared as the mist rolled in was slightly odd. At one time we estimated that visibility was down to 150 yds but we were still flying in a lovely light breeze. Lights on as we left driving along the coast road through the fog, turning inland however and Lydd airport seemed to have no visibility problems as there was little to no mist away from the sea. Arrived back home in bright sunshine. A good afternoon, many thanks to Gareth and Steve and Sue for keeping us company Mike
