Weather permitting Fly-in this coming Sunday 14th Augustwill be at the Racecourse Park, Tonbridge, Kent. TN9 1HF is the postcode quoted for the park. I usually park in the car park off The Slade. What3words ///oval.claim.supply should get you there. Wherever you park you will need to carry your gear over the river. We usually fly on the NE side of the park not far from the childrens play area. Football has restarted nationallyI don't know about locally so be prepared in case matches are being played in the morning, usually all cleared by around noon. If anyone is aware of any events affecting the park on Sunday please let me know so we can change venue if necessary earlier this week. Mike Sat 20th & Sun 21st Betteshanger wind festival - no fly-in this week

Tonbridge Calling is occurring today on the area we use for flying.
Hopefully it will all be cleared up by tomorrow but we may have to move over a little from our usual spot...

A friendly meeting of the Kent Kite Picnickers convened on Sunday and to quote the chain maker at the Black Country Living Museum isss otttt! Gareth and Gerty were there when Barbara and I arrived but had used up all the available wind. So we sat and chatted and were joined by James and his wife. James put us all to shame by flying his delightful HQ Manta until the heat got the better of him and they both adjourned to a local pub for lunch. I flew my purple Brasington delta, Barbara flew her new Skybums Malay and we all wilted in the afternoon heat. A delightful afternoon out but boy was it warm! Mike Betteshanger Wind Festival next weekend so no organised fly-in. The following weekend is the Bognor Regis Kite Festival that many will be involved with so probably no organised fly-in that weekend either. Just because there isnt an organised fly-in doesn't mean you can't all fly together. Just post on a separate thread where and when you are likely to be flying and see who turns up.

We hope you all had plenty of factor 50 to hand as according to local weather reports the temperature at Tonbridge reached 30C.

We hope you all had plenty of factor 50 to hand as according to local weather reports the temperature at Tonbridge reached 30C. It felt a lot more than that! Mike

So it looks like there is still a bat and trap league then. Done a quick Google search and it looks like there are still leagues in Canterbury, Ashford, Medway and Sevenoaks Mike

Maybe an alternative to not able to fly days... ? Something we could introduce to our trips to the continent?

Maybe an alternative to not able to fly days... ? Something we could introduce to our trips to the continent? To compete with the boules of Berck?
