Weather permitting Fly-in this coming Sunday 12th June will be at Palm Bay, Cliftonville, Margate. From around 12.00 noon or earlier if you wish. We usually fly around the Gloucester road area Postcode CT9 3NP and what3words clues.lions.rainy gets you close. Why Margate this week? I hear you ask, surely it should be Folkestone! Well I have already given out the sheduled dates to someone who wishes to fly with us, in order to be where I said we would be depends on us following our usual schedule. Unfortunately with few people available last Sunday Folkestone misses out this time round. As things stand current schedule is as follows:- 12 June - Margate 19 June - Tonbridge 26 June - Walmer 3 July - Milton Creek 10 July - The Lade 17 July - Faversham 24 July - Woodchurch 31 July - Folkestone Mike

Provided my loan application gets approved, I should be able to afford the fuel to get to Margate on Sunday. Getting home may be a different issue...

A lovely afternoon sitting in the sun. Barbara and I arrived to see kites in the air and as we walked from the car they slowly settled to the ground and there they stayed for most of the afternoon as the wind died completely. Gareth boldly used up some energy flying his Prism Vapour (sorry Vapor it's an American kite!) and Martin flew his green canard. Mostly though we sat and picnicked enjoying the sunshine. Around 5 oclock the wind came back and we all had kites in the air for a while before going home. Good to see Peter, Debbie & Malcom, Jo & Martin, Steve P and MartinG. All in all a great afternoon, thanks everyone. Hythe Kite day next Saturday with a fly-in at Tonbridge on Sunday for those with some energy left. Mike

I would have made a herculean effort to join you yesterday, but there was so little wind in Deal all morning - even my high level wind gauge (a sycamore tree) was registering very little leaf movement - I decided against it. Then it got quite windy here all afternoon. Typical, I thought. Still windy and quite chilly with it at 6.30, but later there was nothing again.
Seems to have done the opposite to what you had in Margate, so apart from missing a good social afternoon, maybe I did make the right decision.
And I picked the rest of the blackcurrants, so time well spent. The jam is now made !
