Sunday 22nd May Fly-in will be at Faversham Recreation Ground. Parking is available by the toilet block on Park Rd. ME13 8EU will get you close. What3words petrified.studs.glee I have it on good authority that there are no goalposts on the rec now, seems like football season is over, in Faversham anyway! Mike Sunday 29th Fly-in - Woodchurch

I thought I saw a matrix sign on the M20 last night advising the M2 will be closed from J5 to 7 again this weekend. I might take an easier option and stay local.

That is correct but you are able to avoid the motorway by using the A251 to Faversham and then you are able turn right into Love Lane which will snake round to the REcreation Ground. Traffic will be heavy but I believe it is only coastbound that is affected.

I think Tonbridge sounds a.much more sensible option for me. If anyone in the West wishes to join me, I will be there from about midday as usual.

Gareth is correct this from Highways England: The M2 eastbound will be closed on Friday 13 May 8pm until Monday 16 May at 6am between junctions 5 and 7. We’ll then be closing the same stretch again on Friday 20 May at 8pm until Monday 23 May 6am. All traffic will be diverted south down the A249 to the M20 then on to the A20, A2E and back to the M2 at Junction 6 where the diversion ends. But in Mikes defence Highways England had originally said they would not shut the M2 until Operation Brock had been lifted

Not wanting to get snarled up with the extra traffic heading up to Faversham due to the M2 being closed, I think I will Pass on today and look forward to Woodchurch next week.

I joined Gareth, closely followed by Bill at Tonbridge.
Lovely warm relaxed afternoon in the sun and at least some wind so kites were also flown with Gareth and Bill flying their recent E-bay purchases.
Looking forward to more of the same this Summer!!

I could not join you at Tonbridge today, as I had already arranged to meet up with Zack at Blackheath, perhaps next time.

Despite fears of potential massive queues due to M2 closure we made our way to Faversham arriving without any delays. Once there Barbara & I joined Peter, Steve P, Martin, Jo, Tallulah & Harvey for an enjoyable afternoon in the sun. We were joined by Matt during the afternoon. With a very variable wind we were all able to fly something ending up with a delightful trio of light wind Phoenix kites decorating the sky. Martin being tasked with flying all of their new purchases which seemed to fly ok. Peter Reeves put in an appearance with his daughter and her family. He had a long chat to Barbara and I was able to talk to his daughter. Before they took him back home he proudly showed me photos of some of his model boats. I understand that he thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon out and chatting to us. Mike Next Sunday - Woodchurch
