Suggestions please for Sunday 10th April. My weather app at the moment says it will be sunny with 10 - 11 mph easterly winds, there is time for that to change! I appreciate with high fuel costs and clogged up roads getting around in Kent isn't easy at the moment. With Gareth unavailable this week we are happy to fly almost anywhere, always assuming we can get there, but would like to know where you all wish to fly and how much company we are likely to have. Mike

It's difficult to write this but with Operation Brock Zero having been imposed (M20 shut between junctions 7 - 11 and all non HGV traffic being diverted along other main roads) and the Easter getaway in full swing. The AA & RAC warning about heavy traffic being expected this weekend, we all saw what happened last weekend with Dover & Folkestone no go areas and most of the main arterial routes through the county extremely slow not helped by HGV drivers trying to avoid "Brock". Add this to the reports locally of filling stations not having fuel it makes the thought of travelling around Kent rather daunting. I dont think it sensible to try to get members of the club to travel across the county this weekend to join in one place and suggest that those who want to fly find a site local to themselves this Sunday. Next weekend is Easter I think we will have to see how the transport situation pans out before making a decision, the following week a number of members will be in France for the International Kite Festival at Berck sur Mer. Hopefully we can get things back to normality after then. Mike

It was such a lovely day, sunny, quite warm, just the right amount of wind ...
... that I did the washing and cut the grass. Then sat with a cuppa and admired my hard work.
Sorry to let the club down like that !

You didn't let the club down Janet, you had a good productive and enjoyable day in the sun. Who could ask for more. Barbara and I went for a walk on Wye Downs, sat by the mill stone by the Devils Kneeding Trough before heading back to the car for a kite each. We then spent a very nice hour flying kites in a fairly variable wind. Good to get out in the sunshine and fresh air. Mike

We walked along the canal path into Brecon and sat drinking coffee and eating Welsh cakes watching the world ho by at Brecon canal basin before returning. Very relaxing.
