Anyone want to fly? If so, suggestions for a location please. We should bear in mind escalating fuel costs.

With two suggestions for Palm Bay for the fly-in this week I suggest we get ourselves along to that expanse of grass between Margate and the sea on Sunday. Could be a little cool and blowy with temperature of 5 degrees and NE winds of 22 - 25mph forecast Mike

Just for the record, the long-distance forecast for Cliftonville is exactly the same as Deal !
As Mike wrote, 5C, but feels like 0C with the wind chill. Wind 22-23 mph, but gusting 28-29 mph. Always overcast (no dazzled eyes) with 10% chance of rain.
I was thinking of trying to join you - train & bike, no trailer - but whichever station I go to, there'll always be a half headwind/half crosswind to Palm Bay, so I might not make it !

Well we tried! Barbara and I joined Peter, Gareth & MartinG sheltering in the lee of Peter's van from the bitterly cold almost gale force wind at Palm Bay this afternoon. The kites stayed in the cars while we put the world to rights then sat in cars to eat lunches before calling it a day. May be it will be better somewhere next week although looking at the forecast at the moment rain til 13.00 with 26 - 31mph winds it looks unlikely. However there is time for things to change. Thanks to all who turned up today hope to see you all again soon. Mike
