Here is the weather report from coastal station Deal.
Morning, everyone! There's not much good about it. Currently occasional spots of rain, and it's blowing a hooley - audible gusts.
Met office forecast says: Rain until midday, then 10% chance. Afternoon wind 21-26 mph (force 5) gusting 34-40 (force 7-8).
Shipping forecast says: Force 7 to severe gale 9, decreasing 6 to gale 8, force 4-6 later (after 6pm). Rain then showers.
BBC says: Rain until 3 or 4pm. Gusts to 45mph.
Weather station on Deal pier at 9.30am showed wind at 23 knots, gusts 33 knots. I think that translate to a little more in mph.
It doesn't look as if the wind will drop enough for me to fly anything, so I'm going to chicken out and watch the Winter Olympics. I'll leave it to one of the experts to make the final decision for the club.
This concludes the weather report from coastal station Deal.
