so just been down to my local beach for exercise, counted 12 kitesurfers meeting up for a fly on a loveley day here, i would have loved to have been flying today but understood it was against the guidance , so my question for you guys is, is kiteflying allowed in lockdown or not, and do the kitesurfers operate under different regs than us. nothing against kitesurfers just would like clarity iff they can kitesurf then i can fly my kites also ? I think it depends on your local constabularies idea of what is exercise and how close far apart you are as to whether you are congregating! I know that some Kite flyers in Lockdown one where in no uncertain terms told that kite flying was not an approved exercise! I have been to my local park to test fly new kites and was not challenged.

The only thing that has stopped me flying over the last few months has been poor weather and more particulary, sogging ground conditions. Considering that our local constabulary has been turning a blind eye to the popularity of the local skate park, I think it would be a bit rich for them to comment about the odd kite!

Hmmm... a tricky one but comes down to common sense. A bunch of kitesurfers in the sea looks great but doesnt draw crowds.
A few kiters flying big inflatables in a park is static and is a crowd pleaser, and could be percieved as being organised.

Agree jacqui, at least 2 can meet for recreation now so a bit of rev and 2 line sport kite flying for the next 3 weeks, big stuff can wait till after the 29th march when up to 6 can meet.pete
