Was hoping to come but with problems on the A20 / M20 from Sellindge I'll stay local and pop up to Blackheath.

Oops! I guess I went to the wrong bit. After some serious traffic (multiple events on plus Hythe itself was pretty impressive!) got to The Green and finding it empty, decided to stay. Fantastic wind and me without a single foil in the car. Still I was there in spirit!

After too much sun Saturday helping friend celebrate using his 50th birthday present decided to have an energetic afternoon driving round the Hungarian Grand Prix track followed by cycling up the Champs Elysee. Hope those who made it had a good time and managed to avoid the M20/A20 chaos.

Tim, you picked the wrong site. We tend not to fly on The Green any more due to too many boot fairs. So we head to the recreation ground on South Street, opposite the swimming pool. But to be honest, with all the stories of woe on the A20, we kind of assumed you had decided to stay local rather than risk the chaos.
The wind at south street was horrible. Strong and very bumpy. Very little would fly in the swirling wind. But Steve's trilobite was up all day and I did manage to fly (and break) two sports kites, but it was good fun, especially as these were kites that haven't seen the light of day for many years. A couple of new sticks required. A lot of kitesurfers were enjoying the conditions
Barry and Janet, we didn't really expect you to head out give the reports of the A20 being closed out of Dover so that the "authorities" could hand out water to people on the other carriageway!
Dave, The traffic wasn't as bad as reports said. As I came down the M20 I got stuck in the queue to exit at the Sellindge junction. It was about 2 miles long. I assumed it was people avoiding the motorway. Having got through that, the motorway was clear down to the Hythe junction and beyond. Hythe was busy because there was some fort of mela going on near the RH&DR station, but "our" field was clear.
Not a bad day really. Steve and Sue were there when I got there, I tried, and gave up flying single line kites. Not a good day for them, but had already decided it was going to be a two line day anyway, so flew an old Prism Fanatic, now with broken lower spreader. I assume it was already cracked, but now it is somewhat like a fibreoptic lamp! Putting that away, I tries a Flexifoil Psycho. Broke a spar grabber, but otherwise it survived the experience and was good fun. Meanwhile Steve flew a very vented rev. Mike and Barbara came to join us late afternoon.
