Having checked with the Cricket Club, the 7th August is free for us to fly Kites on the Green from 11.00 hrs until you have had enough.

Just pushing Len's suggestion to the fore, I am unable to come along as we have a family gathering. If the venue is agreed then perhaps some-one who is going along could contact Len to find out if he wishes to come along for a social day.

We will be at the Jolly Up for the weekend, shame we will miss Woodchurch, as it about the nearest site to us. Sue

I rather suspect that is an absolute given.

Mike P has informed me that there is the Weald of Kent Steam Fair at Little Engeham Farm Woodchurch on the Woodchurch- Bethersden Road, although may not affect the Green at Woodchurch, the roads may be busy around there.

That looks like it is quite a way out of the village, but anyone coming in off the A28 (like me ) will possibly get caught up in the traffic. I still plan to get there though. Probably around midday

we shall most certainly be in the motorhome Gerty, it is ideal for places like the Jolly Up field, which only has very basic amenities. Sue

Unfortunately, much as we like Fly-ins at Woodchurch, we have another event on the same day so wont be there.

Looks like we are not going to make it to Woodchurch today. Baby sitting last night, just got rid of him, and just been told my older brother is visiting from Cheltenham so our free time has disappeared. See you all at Teston.

Gareth called for me and off we went to Woodchurch. Sunny and a good wind so Gareth launched his Dragon Parafoil and I put together my Rok V1 but broke a Ramin Spar so out came V in pristine condition ( 15 years old ) and flew staked down for a couple of hours. An old Gent using a Zimmer came and sat on a bench to watch, then all hell broke loose, BERNARD! Bernard!, this was his Wife / Carer, apparently he had escaped again and was she cross, she collected him in the car and off they went. No other Members showed up so we enjoyed the afternoon flying Kites and chatting to passers by, also we had a vintage Plane pass over the Green, Very Low and several old Cars and Motor Bikes went by. We left around 16.30hs and Gareth dropped me off home. Thank you Gareth for the lift and good company.

The wind was a bit twitchy, but it was a good afternoon. Thanks for sharing Len.

You sometimes get the strangest conversations when out flying. So standing there watching this kite Dragon Kapfoil by Gareth Williams, on Flickr and a woman comes up and says in a strong French accent "Are you Welsh?" to which I reply yes, she then tells me that she is from Brittany so we are from the same stock, and then proceeds to discuss the women's rugby sevens at the Olympics with me, and the fact that several of the women seem to have had testosterone overdoses! All adds to the colour of the afternoon. Oh and I wonder if Bernard escaped to find some peace in the afternoon again. Poor soul. No wonder he ran away.
