Well someone had better get the discussion rolling.
The suggestion is that we go to Sellindge on Sunday. Everyone OK with that?

The problem is that I forgot that I am at my Regatta in Kearsney Abbey on Sunday.

Beautiful morning here in Ashford, sun is out but at the moment in my garden there is little wind. Met office forecasting 8 - 12 mph so hopefully it will pick up. See you at Sellindge, don't expect us to be early Mike

Had a lovely afternoon fly-in at Sellindge. Nice and bright with strongish variable wind. Barbara 7 I were joined by Gareth, Sarah (Yes still waiting!), Luke & James and Steve P. Flew flowtails and line laundry, Gareth seemed to have a never ending selection of Hexagon kites and Steve found out just how quick a Rev2 can be. James had great fun flying his new pirate kite, Thanks Uncle Steve! All was going well until I turned my back on my "club" flowtail only to notice out of the corner of my eye the line laundry on the ground. Yes yove guessed my kite was nesting in the nasty little twiggy tree (not so little actually) with the line resting on the overhead main electrical supply to the clubhouse (thankfully fully insulated!) Steve attempted to fly the thing out but we had to resort to brute force to pull it out. The tails had wrapped them selves nicely around the twiggy bits and refused to let go. Well after a few sharp tugs and with a painful ripping noise the kite came down to the ground leaving one of its long red tails behind snagged in the top of the tree (never seen a tail rip completely off before). Thanks to Gareth for the rescue and to Steve who persevered with a line and a mallet and managed to persuade the tail to leave its nest. Now all I need to do is sew the tail back on the kite and all will be well again. Thoroughly enjoyed the late afternoon entertainment when two lads showed up with a rather large foil and showed everyone propping up he bar just how not to fly a traction kite with a landboard. Wish I had my video camera with me! All in all a good day Weather permitting Brogdale next week for those not going to Berck! hope to see you there Mike

It was indeed a good afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed watching two complete novices trying to kill themselves with a kite much too large for the conditions and absolutely no idea how to fly it. Berck next week, so I won't be joining you at Brogdale.
The hexagons all needed testing as I've been busy making tails and tidying up bridles. One needed a longer tail - now resolved. Another also needs a much longer tail. That may have to wait. Good afternoon for testing though.

Sue in a subsequent early post,I mentione d about Brogdale. as I had negotiated two dates for April and May. I know it is a long way for you two, and if wish Woodchurch, then I am ok with w/church,if it is still available; I may not be able to make it,due to possible family dinner.
