I have been in contact with one of the organisers, and I have agreed to take the club gazebo, and also any member wishing to attend will be able to access the flying area with their vehicle, but I have to know your vehicle number, so as I may pass on in due course. In the past this has been a well attended event by the public. Perhaps as it is some distance members should consider car sharing.

I have confirmation the event is on and the official timings is 11am to 5pm.
If any-one is interested in going along and wishes to have permission to park their car on the Common close to the flying area, please let me know along with vehicle registration number, and I will let the organisers know. This may be restricted if the Common is very wet to prevent damage.
I would need to let the organisers know by the end of next week,6th May.
Otherwise parking will be in the adjacent roads if and where possible. This festival does attract a large number of the public, so it is better to be parked on the Common.

I used the Post Code on the Poster and finished up in a Victorian Road about half a mile away, and the 1st lady walking her dog did not know where the Common was !. Having arrived it turned out a great day, it stayed dry with a mostly nice breeze, cold at times. Photos on my FB Page.

It was a good day, as being my first festival of the season, meeting up with other flyers. One minute it was warm enough to not to wear jumpers and it would then be chilly enough for some folks to put on coats. Wind went from non existent to full on wind, which affected the demonstrations by Team Spectrum and Flying Fish. Flying of kites seemed to be affected by wind conditions or perhaps where kiters were situated. We could feel a stong breeze blowing through the gazebo, go to the rear to fly and the wind dropped.
Nice to see Dave Clements, Steve and Sue Ide, Len, Barry and Janet, as well as myself and Debbie showing the flag for KKF.

We had a very enjoyable day at this Kite day, wind was challenging at times, but weather good, very warm when the sun came out. A huge amount of public came along to support this event, hardly a space on the grass , the traders did very well the queues were very long especially for the jerk chicken and ice creams. Lots of easy flyers in the sky and a couple in the trees, we could see when we drove off the common. This was 5.30pm and still plenty of people around.

We too had a very enjoyable day especially being driven to and from Streatham by Malcolm and Debbie - thank you. It was good to met up with old friends and the crowds were very supportive. Six KKF flyers appeared in the arena participating in a mass fly in of birds owned by a Great Ouse kite flyer. Today's Daily Telegraph shows the interest inflatables attract - a large blue and white Bear flying at Streatham appears on page 5.
The Organisers should be proud of a very successful event.

Vlog from Ben Tavener (BBC Russia) is here. Good video, but there must be something wrong with the sound on my computer. The commentary sounded like it was in a foreign language. Have to get that looked at.
