I have posted on the weekenders forum that I may be attending on one of the days and that there is a posting on our forum. I had heard rumours of this event, but no details. Thanks Gareth for posting the link

Could be interesting, especially a new venue and the clocks going back on the Saturday would be just right for night flying. Unfortunately we are committed elsewhere.

Well what a great day. Despite being 100% cloud for 95% of the day it turned into a great day out. I hope all those attending tomorrow - sorry just seen the time Today! are made as welcome as we were. Dave M and his team put on a great day for the people of Bognor and saw a reasonable turnout from the Bognor population. Barbara and I were made to feel part of the event and flew in the arena for most of the day. At one point there were just 3 illuminated kites flying Steve Ide, Barbara & myself. That was until the wind turned rabid taking out a section of metal temporary fencing depositing Steves kite on the ground and shaking Barbara's battery pack out of the sky, closely followed by mine. We found one a major success in the dark but one is still missing. Bow and the overnighters said they would have a good look around in the morning and if it is found pass it on to one of the visiting KKF members so please could you keep your eyes peeled. Thanks. Have fun, keeping my fingers crossed that the weather stays good for what feels like could become a great little festival. Mike

We had a very good day at Bognor yesterday, nice site, all made to feel very welcome by organizers and locals, hopefully this festival will continue, earlier in the year would be better. As Mike said the wind went rather mad and a heavy squall of rain moved through causing mayhem to the led in kites in the air.The evening was rounded off with a firework display. We got home at midnight. Thanks to all the organizers for all the hard work put in.

Another great day today. Very light wind meant it was a day for proper kites. Glorious sunshine all day too.
Sorry Mike, no sign of your battery pack.

Dear Kent Kite Flyers, this is a public apology for my overreaction at Bognor Regis KF the weekend before last. That was wrong, and I shouldn't have behaved like that. Underlying all this was a major misunderstanding about the way the festival was to be run. We expected to be told by the organisers when they wanted us to fly (which is what we're used to happening at every kite festival we've ever attended or flown at), whereas at Bognor it was to be the other way around, with flyers letting the organisers know when they wanted to fly. We were not aware of that, and also not aware that the bands could be stopped to allow a pair or team routine to take place. So essentially, both parties were 'waiting' for the other to make the first move.
I've already apologised to Dave and Sarah in private, and they've both accepted my apologies. So hope we can move on from this, kites (with however many lines) flying.
