I am coming along as well as Barry and Janet, again I am establishing a 30 minute break about half way through. I am meeting with Sara Gough later this week to confirm details etc. She is the mother of Alfie and set up the charity with her partner, and now helps other children with the same illness that eventually led to the passing of Alfie.

The 30 min break didn't work because when they stopped selling tickets, we still had a 30 min back log of Teddies waiting to be Parachuted, then after the 30 mins and they started selling tickets again the teddies joined the Q, so it was a continuous stream. Al confirmed for Sunday, cars allowed onto field to unload, and all but Bills, must be off and parked in side roads by 11am latest. Not withstanding Len's comments about a break, I have agreed a 30 minute break at 2.30pm should we wish to take the option. May give us unhealthy ones a chance of a proper break and sit down.

Well that was one of the worst journeys to Ramsgate that I can remember, it was steady rain until Canterbury then to add to my troubles the traffic was slow moving from the Morrisons Traffic lights because of an incident in Rheims Way. Traffic was still very slow as there was a set of Traffic lights controlling vehicles past road works further on my journey. It was now raining hard with the road flooded in places, in particular Sturry and the outskirts of Ramsgate. I arrived in pouring rainand when it abated a little I went and found our intrepid four, Malcolm. Bill. Janet and Barry sheltering in their cars. Malcolm had it confirmed that the Event was being cancelled so we left for home, and guess what? the rain stopped and the sun came out between Ramsgate and Dover ( Not going near Canterbury! ) but, it was thick fog all through Capel then more rain on the M20, I arrived home to a warm and sunny Ashford. Hey Ho we are booked for next year.

I think it was one of those days!!! Got to Maidstone, had to stop to deal with stuff at work... Eventually got onto M20 and queued, then onto Detling Hill and more queues and very heavy rain....Then got message to say event cancelled... Got back to T.Wells in the sun...but has rained since...

Sarah Gough, who set up the charity Appeal 4 Alfie in memory of her son, requested that I pass on to all of those who attempted or acheived arriving at the venue, a very special thanks as she realises that only I live locally.
