A good suggestion Lex especially if we hold it towards the end of the day and could offer a prize for best decorated kite, perhaps involve local schools as well

Yep, and involving local schools would also help publicity and get more people to attend, and stay for longer. Is there a possibility to offer a kite-making package to schools that they could buy from KKF at a reasonable price, and that would allow them to let the kids design their kites during art class or something, and then bring the kites to the festival to fly?

One other thought: how about having a dedicated slot in the arena to allow kids who have made kites in the workshop to fly them in the arena and the centre of attention for 15 minutes? With expert kite flyers on stand-by to help them if necessary? Great way to get the public involved, and it really worked in Malmesbury and Weymouth last year. Good Idea Lex could possibly have a 'Best Workshop kite' competition. Following on from your earlier comments, I have flow two lines but was not confident enough in my ability to volunteer for the 'Ballet' which Mike Barbara and Tim did. I would like to know how to fly quads properly having a couple of David Davies' creations in my collection, so should you return next year and want to take on a totally novice quad pupil I'll have a go.

Not at all sure my quad-flying skills are such that I can teach someone else, as our focus is very firmly on dual-line pair/team-flying. Having said that, we are keen to add a fun quad-line routine to our festival portfolio using a pair of VampDevils. See how far we get with that!

Either the other Steve or myself would be willing to help other Quad Kite owners to set up and fly them, have them in your car for next time. Len.
