Further to previous posting, it is all confirmed for Kent Kite Flyers to hold OSOW at Radnor Park on Sunday 11th October.
For newer members One Sky One World is a worldwide event on the same day where kiteflyers fly kites to promote World Peace. This has been an ongoing event for some time. There is a website which gives more background information and where the number of kites flown are recorded.
Our event commences from around 11am and ends at 5pm. The public are encouraged to partake and we shall have the club loan kites available.
As I am not around for this event, Janet will hold the CAA certificate and the licence for use of Radnor Park from Shepway Council.

[Flippant]As we have a licence does that mean we can park on the park[/Flippant] Gareth When I managed to get the first OSOW approved on Radnor Park I fought like mad as Shepway do not allow event on the ground between the end of September and early April. Consent was eventually given on the strict understanding that as it was outside the usual season for licences to hold events on the park we would not be permitted to bring vehicle on. It is great that Shepway still realise how great a draw OSOW is and allow us to organise it.

No cars may be parked on the park, but you may park yourselves.

Just bringing this up to the top, as it is the last "daytime event" of the season planned for KKF.

What a good turn out we had of Members also the public who flew their own or our loan Kites. It was a bright and sunny day, and a highlight was when the Vulcan Bomber flew past on its last outing. Steve Palmer is counting the kites flown today to add to the overall World Wide total for One Sky One World.

Well done to all members who turned out for OSOW, even an approx. 100 kites is a great number.
