There's a possibility some people from Maidstone will come over to Canterbury to see the kites on Sunday. Apparently they go to Teston every year and their grandchildren love the kites. Please make them feel welcome.

Lovely sunny and dry, I arrived around noon, Peter was flying his Dan Leigh yellow delta, just!, as the wind was next to nil. A little more wind came so I launched my Slideaway Rok, I got it to about 100ft but it wouldent stay put and came down, I tried again with No V but no luck. Barry had arrived in the mean time and lofted a low wind kite which was a bit fickle at times. Steve arrived and flew his Terry Dack Tile on Gossamer thread like an Indan Fighter, the only way to keep it up. Bill arrived as the sun was going down ( 2.30 ) and I was getting cold, so I left them to it.
Ps, I do not know what happened about unlocking the gate, but it was locked when Peter arrived at 11.20.
PPS. As we do not seem to get any flyers from Canterbury coming to fly at Canterbury, maybe we should think about dropping it. The only thing it has going for it is the Field with mown grass. Some of our members cannot manage the Stile, last month ............... came a cropper off it. No Toilets and we have to rely on a kind Member coming up to unlock the Gate.

We had intended on joining you all today but............ having just flown back from the Caribbean yesterday our body clocks are still adjusting and we are still trying to warm up. By the time we had realised what the time was it was too late to start out and Im afraid it is 20 degrees colder than we have been used to for the past fortnight and we would have frozen had we ventured out. Hope to be better adjusted to be able to fly with you next week. Mike & Barbara

Beware...
Jet lag can make even a cold concrete pavement seem an extremely welcoming place to sleep!!!!
Hope you enjoyed your time out there?
