Enjoyable fly-in at Canterbury but in an unmanageable wind which was strong enough to break a spar on my new delta whilst at other times dying away to nothing, not content with variable strength it also could not make up what quarter to blow from. However 6 of us braved the warm sunshine and erratic winds, flew many kites and dangled lots of line laundry even with lifter kites acting in a way that would make a bucking bronco proud. Interesting bird spots were a Red Kite and a Buzzard.

I sort of agree with Kevin, a wonderful afternoon in the sunshine with good company. Not sure I would have classed the wind as unmanageable more like unpredictable but then my opinion isnt coloured by a broken spar. Managed to fly a variety of kites and laundry and made the most of the lovely weather. Mike

Sorry to hear about the broken spar Kevin, we went down to Dungeness, flew on the beach along by the Lighthouse, Steve flew our large octopus for a while, then we flew our new butterfly, which we bought last week at the auction. Steve then flew his Rev for a while, but gradually the wind got very strong, so we decided to pack up, very enjoyable in the sunshine. Sue
