There has always been discussion how to involve individuals into the club who are not kite flyers. I am just putting this out for comments.
It does appear in the distant past that some individuals were looking for a hobby/leisure pursuit and found out about making kites, which led to either forming a club or joining an established club. There are a number of kite makers within and outside the club who have numerous skills in making kites. It does seem that the cheapness of kites now made in the Far East has made it less cost effective to make one's own kites
Would it be worthwhile organising a kite making workshop for beginners with volunteers assisting; and advertising it to the public especially for those looking for a hobby, just a thought? I know a number of those within the club who have no skills in making kites would like to also learn the fundamentals so as to follow plans
