Today I skipped off work early and took the WWKP banner to the ruins of Thurnham Castle. For those who don't know, this sits on the edge of the North Downs overlooking Detling. The ruins are in a small heavily overgrown, tree enclosed area with very little room. Launching the kite was going to prove tricky. But at about the 6th attempt I managed to get my Premier rok into the sky without snagging any of the undergrowth. Once it was airborne and above the trees, it was generating plenty of pull, so the rig and banner were set up for a brief, and somewhat scary KAP session. The camera headed towards some small trees a couple of times as the line went slack, and stability was definitely a problem as most of the images I got were blurred. But I did manage to get some decent images. The really tricky part though was getting everything safely back to the ground.
