Morning then,
Just received a message from Jon Barker, to say that the event is going ahead. At the moment it is dry at SFL with a varying wind strength up to 20 mph.
I have said that as many members travel from around Kent, it will be up to individuals to make up their own minds about supporting,. He has said he appreciates any support shown and will put kettle on for those who do show

Wendy and I will be there, probably looking like Polar bears under tons of warm clothing.

Thanks to members who are going to support the event, and hope the weather stays reasonable even if cold.

Sorry everyone but despite really wanting to be there Barbara & I just can not face the cold today. Its just above freezing here and blowing well, feels like being inside a freezer. I hope all who make it have a good day, please take some pictures and send me a "postcard" for the windjammer. Hopefully see you on a hillside when it warms up a bit, assuming it ever does! Mike

Sorry guys...
Very icy here....
Really wanted to support this event, but have had one too many near misses this year to risk it today...
Hope that those who do go have a good fly....

Sorry but I went down with the lergy yesterday, hacking cough, stiff neck, aching all over, cannot get warm. South Forland Light House is a favourite venue for me. Len.

Please pass on my thanks to all your colleagues who came along.
We didn’t have the greatest turn out and it was unbelievable cold but it went as well as it possibly could, given the circumstances. All your members did extremely well; we kept them plied with tea and biscuits.

Further message received this morning from Jon Barker at SFL
"Could you also pass on our thanks for the two donated reels of kite line which somebody gave to the volunteers in the shop? I have only just found this out and I am very grateful. It is an ongoing battle to untie the kite strings"
